Haven't seen it yet, but the very thought fills me with dread. Its bound to be tarted up with the hollywood happy ending where the policeman gets rescued instead of sacrificed. They just have to do it don't they?

That's a movie that should never be remade... Christopher Lee is flawless as Lord Summerisle.
You know there's no way they're going to end the remake with Nic Cage the same way as the original... they're probably going to "Hollywood" it up...

It would be a bad idea under any circumstances, but Nicholas Cage is miscast. He's well known as somewhat edgy and weird, and won't convince like Edward Woodward did as a somewhat naive, religious policeman.
