Put a rubber band around ur wrist and if u get the urge to do that thing, pull it and let it snap really hard on ur arm, eventually u will associate that thing with pain and stop doing it. Helped me quit smoking.

Ok, here's what worked for me. When you get the urge to do your habit, look at the time. Fight the urge until it goes away. Look at the time again. How long was it ? 5 mins? 10 mins? When the urge hits you again, look at the time. Fight the urge until it goes away. How long was it this time? 3 mins? 7 mins? See? it's getting shorter! Also, did the urge last one day? The next time it will ony last a half a day. Pretty soon you won't be thinking about it at all. If the urge hits you think back. It's been _ days/weeks since I've felt like doing that! (You fill in the blank)
