Yes I do care, I think of all the displaced people in Lebanon and the Israels have disruptive lives living in bomb shelters, I was displaced after hurricane Katrina, but no one was shooting at me.

All these people suffer for what, why these two fighting can not be civilized, where will these people go, how will the eat, be happy.
With all the super education systems and super smart people there are in this world, they still do not know how to teach humanity, why it it because about power, money. Humanity is an illusion, that governments and religions create so the mass of people remain silent.

Yes I do, do you have no compassion? Innocent people are dying, if you don't care you simply prove the whole "blood for oil" thing right... I don't think our military should be involved, I just always care when people are being murdered on either side of an arguement. And what exactly do you mean by Real American? I'm sure in your mind a "real" American is anyone who agrees with you.

Why do you think what happens in the Middle East affects the price of gas? Because that's where the oil is. And because the oil is over there, we need to do whatever it takes to make sure the region remains stable enough for us to obtain our oil. So if the region starts turning into one huge mess, then we will need to step in to protect our own interest. If that happens, Iraq will look like a walk in the park in comparison.

It doesn’t matter who is in charge in the middle east. They are going to sell oil on the world market and it will get to us one way or another. People in the middle east have been killing each other for 6 thousand years. Let them kill each other. If they kill enough their won’t be so many it immigrate to the United States and Europe.

America was founded on high ideals. To adopt an "it's not my problem attitude" will diminish our world stature. Implications include the loss of trust of Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and NATO members. If they see us not standing behind Israel, our ally, they will have doubts whether we back them up too. If you want to be the next France, ignore the Middle East at your own peril.

Not really. Just as long as what happens there, stays there. The Saudi's attacked us, not the Iraqis. The prez has his priorities mixed up. He's playing blood for oil, when it should be eye for an eye. And he calls himself a Christian.

No, why would I? They have their hassles which I am sure make a lot of sense to them, but they are 100% irrelevant both to me and to the United States. Let them figure it out, its their scene, its their country.

Yes, the more they fight they more likely we will end up in another war. Plus as a soldier I will be over there first. I would like to avoid that.

Yes and no. The cost of gas doesn't really affect my husband and I because 1) I don't drive and 2) Due to a medical condition, he's not able to drive until October, and has been restricted from driving since last September.
So, what goes on in the Middle East currently affects us more than the price of gas BECAUSE my husband is US Army. The base we're posted at houses approximately 8000 soldiers. More than three-fourths of them are in Iraq right now. So every time we hear of more violence, or someone else being killed, we worry that it could be one of ours, or it could affect when they're going to be able to come home.
Besides, the human condition (or at least ours) is to have sympathy for the people who lose loved ones at the hands of the insurgents there.
I pity the people who are stuck in their own narrow world.
