Because most Americans do not have any clue as to what is in it. How about the fraud of "seperation of church and state" that is not in the 1st Amendment. Below is what the First Amendment actually says:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Second Amendment
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
THIS MEANS I HAVE A RIGHT TO CARRY A GUN AND LIBERALS CANNOT TAKE THIS AWAY, EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE AND STILL TRY TO.
Fourth Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
THE EMMINENT DOMAIN CASE BLATANTLY VIOLATES THIS. UNREASONABLE SEIZURE MEANS TAKING SOMEONE'S PRIVATE PROPERTY TO GIVE IT TO ANOTHER. THIS ALSO INCLUDES WEALTH (WHICH IS TAKEN THROUGH TAXES)
5TH AMENDMENT
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
EMMINENT DOMAIN RULING VIOLATES THIS. THIS AMENDMENT STATES PRIVATE PROPERTY TAKEN FOR PUBLIC USE, NOT TO BRING MORE TAXES TO THE TOWN/CITY.
We have no concept what freedom is nor what our founders went through to get it. Each amendment was specifically written to address Brittish mistreatment of the colonies.

To understand how important it is to know the difference between you (the individual) and the bullies (groups) who will gang up to keep you from being able to express your opinions, live without undue interference, have a fair trial, or keep weapons to protect yourself.
The REPUBLIC which we are living in was debated for a long time to make sure that the land wouldn't be ruled by a mob. That's why it isn't a democracy, because if everyone could vote themselves iPods, they would. The way it is now, you have to first take over a big corporation, buy a majority of Congress and the Senate, and THEN you can get free iPods, but they have to be to military specifications, so they cost a lot more.

The United States of America is a nation of laws. The Bill of Rights from our Constitution are laws that Amarican citizens use as guideposts to determine what we will allow and accept in treatment from our government.
Too bad more countries in the world don't include them in their constitutions.
Best Wishes and have fun but be safe.

The Bill of Rights provides the basic foundation of our government and it is important to know what they say before lawmakers decide to make a law.

they're all major. i in my opinion could say the first yet really all are both major. a minimum of contained in the bill of rights. the different amendments particularly a lot outline what's already there. you could't position emphasis on one element of the structure and ignore about something else. a large type of the 2d change human beings have a tendency to target this. each change is major and all want to be defended.

The constitution itself speaks, mainly, of what government can do.
The Bill of Rights tells us the limits of government. Limited government with all rights not specifically spelled out reserved to the states and the people is the cornerstone of a system that serves the people instead of enslaves them.

To remind us of what we had. Remember when you had a Constitution that protected you from torture by Big Government? Or being held without bail, or without a trial? Or having your private communications spied on, including your personal private banking records? Those days are gone, sadly. It was a great Constitution. Too bad the people didn't protect it.

To know what you will lose in 2010 for the Security, Prosperity, and Partnership Trade Agreement Bush signed last year with Mexico and Canada to erase the borders and dissolve the Constitution.
It's a trade agreement, not a treaty so it's not subject to Congressional approval. He is the 'Decider'.
