I don't know, but it is very grammatically incorrect and sounds really stupid. Is it supposed to be an apology? I suspect the person that coined it is the same one who decided that wearing pants twelve sizes too large and using a belt around the thighs like a tourniquet to hold them up is also acceptable. I think it is an invitation to kick them in their exposed butts! I'd like to, but I don't believe in violent actions.

"my bad" is just a variation of the expression "my fault"
which comes from the latin "mea culpa"
that phrase is old as dust

.. i dont know but in doing so it was certainly "his bad "!!! i almost fired an employee for trying to pass that off for an appology[ it was the 1st time i heard it.. i thought he was being a real smart ***][ who coined that term " smart ***"?]
