Christmas? Are you really that upset over it? Why? Did Santa give you coal? Did Jesus not give you a heart? Where are you going to report the Religious part? I don't get it...are you just upset with what the commercialism is all about or just with life in general? Sorry, your question is a little vague.
Christmas is what you make of it not what others tell you to do.
The older you get the more you will appreciate the family time at the holidays and the memories that are developed and the traditions that are passed down. I remember thinking that it was really bad until the first year that I couldn't make it home and the rest of the family was together and it just was the worst, so I learned that I was being rather spoiled and needed to grasp every holiday and make it the best. My parents are now gone and my family has gone different directions and we haven't had a holiday together since....sad, but the memories are delightful.
Try not to spend anything for the holiday this year, try giving of yourself instead and see if that doesn't make a difference.
There is religion but I question the time frame if you really must know the truth.
Make it what you want it to be not something that it isn't...don't put so much emphasis on it and see what happens, maybe you'll enjoy it more.

No. I love Christmas. Actually, since I'm a Pagan, I get to celebrate twice during the Silly Season - both Christmas and Yule.
In all seriousness, I think of Yule as the time to celebrate with my chosen, mostly Pagan, family, and Christmas with the family I was born to. Jesus was a mighty prophet and holy man, most Pagans agree on that. I see nothing wrong with celebrating that birthday.
Besides, I love to cook and love giving and getting presents and love throwing my annual Yule Party.
Try to have a little fun once - you might like it. Kids are so grim these days.

I don't do all that crap. I get a couple of days of work and chill. Last year I was off on a trip and when I got back my man had covered the place with lights, candles, bought a new second hand suite and made a great dinner for me and then nex t day gave me some lovely presents. That is what Christmas should be about (o.k. any time will do) I hope you get my meaning. The downside is he was so good to me I got used to it and took advantage until he called me a lazy ***** so this year another couple of days off and I will surprise him don't know what with - Now I will start worrying about what to do and give ''''''''''''''''''''

No. Christmas comes at the darkest time of the year and that is as good a reason as any to have a party . Besides, I like giving presents to people and if I give them presents during the year, at just any time, they get suspicious that I want something back. At least at Christmas, I have a good excuse.

You got it! All the Christmas hype is way way over the top these days. I try and ignore all the fake jolity that goes on. Of course the religious aspect is important but that's something that should be with you all the year! Christmas has been hijacked by Tesco etc

no it's fun. people like you really annoy me "oh bla bla I hate christmas" it's such a pose, like "i'm so above all that popular crap" oooh you're so cynical and cool. If you are experiencing any fake jollity, how about putting out some real positivity? or don't you have any to give? instead of moaning. boring.

No, I think Christmas and the concepts surrounding what Christmas should be is beautiful. People are the ones that mess up Christmas. It just goes to show you that if people can be "jolly" and nice during Christmas, than they can be the same way the rest of the year. People suck!

I don't think Christmas sucks at all; however, you are as entitled to your viewpoint as everyone else. For me, I try to focus on the family and giving aspect instead of the commercialism. I think Christmas is what you make it. Don't get presents for people if you can't give them with love - they'll be able to tell and at that point what really is the point??
