It is pretty much required of me in dance and being a majorette, and I just really want to learn how to do these things.

There is an exercise called hurdle stretches that will help you with kicks. I won't describe it here, because I might do it wrong and you could hurt yourself. Find a book on kinesiology.

I've also heard of an exercise for doing the splits. Lie on your back with your bum against a wall. Lift your legs into the air and rest them against the wall -- you'll need some open space on either side of you. Let your legs fall open while keeping your body balanced -- don't fall too far to either side. Don't try to stretch, let gravity do all the work. Hold this for NO MORE THAN 15 minutes (you might go as little as 5), and stop immediately if anything starts to hurt. This will take some time to build up your flexibility, but it will help.

I also recommend yoga; many of the poses are great for flexibility.

Before you attempt any of these things, consult a physician or a trainer. And for heaven's sake don't do any exercise without a spotter. I got a back injury once because I didn't have someone with me while I was doing stretches.

it takes lots and lots of practice, but basically for a split you stick your dominant leg infront of you (say its your right) and the left leg behind you, push with both in opposite directions until your hands can reach the floor to balance you better, and keep pushing out until both your legs are flat on the floor. for a straddle, get in a slipt and turn your upper body sideways so that your two legs are on the right side and left side of you.

i'm sorry, but i don'tknow what a kick is, besides the one you do to defend yourself....
