I can't speak for anyone else, but I realize that there are other places, yet I really could care less because it has no effect on the quality of my life here in my little corner of America. I will never be able to travel to another country & most of the people I have met from other countries don't like America or Americans & make no bones about their feelings. They vacation here for a short time, then go home to share their disgust of "Lazy Americans". I am 53 years old & I don't like this New World Order crap that is being crammed down our throats. America spends more money to help other countries, yet is having difficulties taking care of her own citizens. If everyone just stayed in their own corner of the world, maybe we wouldn't have this problem of having to "save the world". We have so much poverty & mental health issues that we (I) couldn't possibly take on the burden of worrying about any other place outside of California! Like I said , I can only speak for myself, as I am only one person.

Some of them do.
Unfortunately many of them are very insular in their outlook. If it doesn't affect them personally, they're not interested.
Why bother learning about other countries if you'll never go there? Why learn another language if you'll never use it?

The rest of the world sees reasons for doing these things, but some people in the US don't. It's hard to blame them for it though, if you've ever been there on holiday and seen what passes for world news in their non-print media you'll know what I mean.

I think it's a terrible shame, as the US has a lot to learn from and offer to the rest of the world, but ignorance of other cultures breeds fear and that's what's mainly growing in the US right now.

No, we are totally oblivious to the fact that their is an entire world out there, most of which wants to kill us because we are the most free country on earth, were spoiled lazy people who think that because they spent four years in college getting a liberal arts degree and protesting the "unfair" and "inhumain" way the U.S. treats it's own people, they know everything on earth there is to know, and that they are freedom fighters for the right of free speech, even though if you try to debate with them, they tell you to shut up, you are denying their right of free speech because youre exercising yours, can say anything they want, including calling our president a nazi, though their actions tend to make them more the nazis than anyone else, and they cannot be arrested. Totally oblivious to the fact that we are waging a war vendetta against the people who wish to kill us and HAVE, as well as to the fact that we are making the world safe for people like YOU. Your welcome, by the way, even though we are totally oblivious.

of course we do.
because most of you flag burning border hopping illegal immigrants are already here.
every time you walk into a convenience store or take a walk down the street or visit your kids school and the majority of the population is speaking a language other than English it makes it kinda hard to forget there is a
"whole world" out there because it is in our back yards.

Your "burning the US flag" avatar isn't very nice, but, I'll answer your question. Yes, we do realize there is a whole world out there...a whole world of awesome, intelligent people :)

Where are you from? I'm from the UK and i have to admit that they are a bit thick lol. Bush tops it. He doesn't know the names of leaders of important countries. Quote: Mr. Bush, can you tell me who the President of (think it was India) is? Bush: General General.

I think half of Americans and 9o0% of the US army don't know most of the geography of Earth. I think they think Iraq's a few miles west of the USA... if they know where west is. And they give little regard for the well-being of civilians in these war-torn countries. Apparently a group are accused of raping a 14year old Iraqi and then killing her and her parents and brother...

LOL....sometimes I wonder, but yes, most of them do.

Life is so fast paced here as it is in other areas of the world...that sometimes people tend to forget to pay attention to anything other than Headline News.
