no, we are not more "retarded". if they were, we would be the retarded ones, and retarded people would be normal... But "normal" people are definentally capable of doing very, very stupid things, so i see your point. Have you ever wondered though.... maybe retarded people are actually really smart? so they decide that our world isn't good enough for them, so they create their own world to live in?
