People sense and don't like desperation. You need to prepare yourself to be okay alone (not nervous) and be open to starting up conversations when the opportunity arises.

Just talk to everyone. I was new at my school in 7th grade. But I knew people but I did not have classes with them.

you are always nervous when you meet new people, just try to be your self and if things get awkward make a joke :P just try to relax and don't try to hard its easy to make friends, its harder to keep them. good luck

OK IF YOUR TOO NERVOUS THEN LOOK FOR ANOTHER PERSON WHO IS ON THERE OWN & LOOKS NERVOUS & GO OVER TO THEM & JUST SAY HI HE OR SHE WILL BE GLAD OF SOME COMPANY.
