It has really hard tips now and they crumble off easily, but some of them are still really green......Is it too late?????

mist it with water and see if that helps , as well as root watering, if misting helps you might want to sit the bonsai in a larger oriental style dish with pebbles in it and water, that way the evaporation of the dish of pebbles will help keep the air more moist right around the plant.

find what type of tree it is. It's like having a cat and getting advice on dogs.

get good of tree like 'Simon & Schuster's Guide to Trees ' with picture places and find your tree.

I would use CPR. If that does not work well i'm all out of ideas.
