I had it for 18 years. It is a big pot for cooking or steaming crabs.

Get out the yellow pages and find a local welder. They can tell what kind of metal it is and fix it correctly. Don't use any kind of "do it yourself" stuff that has who knows what chemicals in them. Remember you put food in this thing!

I would use a product called "JB WELD" I imagine that it can be found at most hardware stores. It comes in two squeeze tubes. You simply mix an equal amount together, and apply to the area. I would put it on the outside and spread it a good 1/16th of an inch thick.

Please don't cook with anything that has JB weld on it. Depending on the material you can fill it with alum-alloy.
