I'm going to a Tool concert on September 2nd. It's at the Sleeptrain Ampitheater in Marysville California. I was going to bring my camera and take pictures of my friends, the crowd and the band. But on my ticket it says "No cameras". What's up with that? My uncle got really cool pictures of Ted Nugent before. Why no pictures at this show?

I went to the NIN/Perfect Circle concert in St. Louis, where no cameras were allowed.

I just shoved a disposable camera down my pants and snuck it in, and got some awesome pictures of Trent during the show.

Sorry Ledzepbabe, but most concerts nowadays restrict camera use because of security reasons, sometimes they do let you take in cameras though, it depends on the Band's preferences and the security company at the theater where the concert is being held. You're best bet is to call the place where the concert is being held and ask the ticket desk why or if there are special circumstances.
Have a good concert though. Mainly they restrict cameras because of people pirating their concert on tape, it's just a case of too many bad people abusing a simple rule that makes it bad for everyone else.
Have a great night and remember it well.

If they catch you with it, as you are entering the gates, they give you the option to take it back to your car (which is usually a long ways away), then go to the back of the line. Or you can throw it in the trash. If they catch you with it inside, you can be booted out, fined, or just have it confiscated. I'd say its not worth it. By the way, at a concert I attended in Indiana, you couldn't bring in outside cameras, but they sure sold disposable cameras for $10 each. Now, some arenas or groups just don't allow them at all, but most are for that reason, so they can jack up the prices for the ones being sold there.

When I went to gig in Los Angeles, CA, security took my disital camera at entrance check!!(They even didn't notice that,,,) They were checking 'how professional' they were like zoom/movie/flash etc... Some people had 'simple' dig camera or disposable camera, these cameras were OK to bring to inside... Also cellphone cameras were ok, so u should bring some of them. I also think 'how big' the band is.. More well-known bands have tight-security...u know i mean?! I hope thats help. Enjoy!!

A lot of times it depends on the band and the venue. You could always try to sneak it in but if you get caught they will take your camera away from you.

Different bands have different rules. The Dead always welcomed cameras etc..., other bands want you to only buy pictures from them. They control their image and sound and everything.

People usually sneak cameras anyway, or use their cell phone cameras.
