It's 2006 and Disney STILL hasn't made a black princess. Or a Hispanice one, for that matter. Why not?

(They've had Chinese, Middle Eastern, European, Native American, a Gypsy and a non-human.)

In fact, even in the background or as secondary characters, there's never a black person. Actually, I think Lilo & Stitch had the first one...a movie that really isn't all that old considering how long Disney has been around. What's taking them so long?

(By the way, someone mentioned Jasmine- just so you know, she's supposed to be Middle Eastern.)

Good Question! I've been wondering what's been up w/ that too. I don't really care for disney anymore because of that. Maybe there's some weird stuff going on at Disney? I mean you would think that they would make a black princess before a non-human...They should make a cartoon movie about a beautiful African kingdom and then have the characters with cool African names and all that. I wouldn't know jack about a story plot sadly.

Why Nala from the Lion King is Technicaly African. Well she was a lioness but her voice was done by a Black woman. I have an idea come up with a story about an African Princess and send it in to Disney maybe they'll make it into animated movie.

Nala does not count. There is no Black or Latina Princess. I propose Disney bring their animated movies back and make some more princess of different races.

I'm racking my brain, and I think you might be right! There are a lot of really cool and interesting African(and African-American)/Hispanic folktales with strong female characters that could be made into movies.
