An intervenor is someone who is not named in the suit but wants to be (usually as a plaintiff). In order to avoid duplicate trials (one for each plaintiff), the courts prefer to consolidate them.

Complaint In Intervention

In this situation, the complainant has one year from the date of the injury to file suit, or, if a suit to which the complainant is not a party has already commenced over the same issues of fact and law, the complainant may enter that case via intervention. Intervention is basically just a mechanism for a party to enter a suit to which it was not originally a party.
