Having seen this first hand, I can tell you that it isn't something you will realize you are seeing until, like me, you find them the next morning OD'd in a pool of blood on the floor next to their bed, face down and dead.

The saddest part was that I didn't knowshe was dead and gone. I decided to go check on her and I had to get her landlady to let me into her apartment. Her dog was there, her car was there...she had no job. After I found her I then had call her family and tell them the shocking news.

We were best friends and this was 20 years ago. Her family blamed me for being the last person to see her alive and not know she was going to commit suicide.

A year later I tried the same thing but I woke up in the hospital after about 6 weeks and of receiving shock therapy so I would forget how bad I was hurting.

If you are suicidal, please stop and think about how your friends and family will feel when they realize that you were and they couldn't help you.

The first sign that someone is going to commit suicide is when are are suddenly cheerful after being depressed for a while. Since depression is being too overwhelmed to make a decision about anything, they have finally made one so the pressure is off and they feel cheerful.
Sorry you lost your friend in such terrible circumstances.

i dont think so... though i thought about committing suicide most of the time. but i'll never do it.

because firstly i thought about my loved ones that i will leave behind- how they will feel
secondly, suicide is a big sin- i'm not a devout person as it is. but still i dont want to spend eternity in hell
thirdly- simply because i'm a coward.....

Thats really nice of you to put that there. Many people on this website are debating on suicide. I know it's wrong and you may have just changed someones outlook and saved their life.

you could never have known and should be free of the shame and the guilt. She likely had a mental illness. It is the nature of the beast. You are absolved, you are guiltless. I am sorry for the loss of your innocence and your friend.

I tried committing suicide last year and hurt everyone I love and who loves me, so yeah, I hear you. And it hurt me to know that I hurt them.
