Ok here goes.......From an entomologist......your answer is as follows: For the most part the wasps that you are thinking of(the stinging kind) are just small players in the biosphere, like any other bugs or critters...they are consumers that fill a niche. HOWEVER, there are a lot of small wasps that we can use to our benefit. By small I mean about 1-2mm or sometimes smaller. I performed research on a study concerning the wasp E. inaron, which was released in the USA as a biological control method of Ash whiteflies. The whiteflies were damaging citrus crops in california and some other areas...the wasps were used to reduce whitefly populations to non threatening levels.

Most wasps are carnivores and prey on small insects. I've seen them snatching flies in mid air - they also eat dead meat as well so the do have an important role in the ecosystem. As far as stinging, they generally sting what they feel is a threat - I have been stung just walking near a wasp eating a chunk of meat - so some are definitely more aggressive than than others.

Wasps are beautiful and perfect creatures. They never sting me because I like them, and admire them. They only sting people who hurt them(which is understandable) or who fear them. This is because a frightened person gives off a smell that infuriates the wasp. So all you have to do is keep calm and leave them alone and they'll leave you alone.
If you mean what use are they to human beings, they slaughter vast numbers of caterpillars and grubs that would otherwise eat the crops and carry them off to feed their babies(They are also wonderful mothers). The wasps themselves can not eat meat, only sweet liquid things. That's why they like jam and ripe fruit. They also eat nectar and thus pollinate plants.

Just 30 Japanese Giant Hornets, a type of wasp, can slaughter a hive of 30,000 bees. I'll take my chances with the 30 hornets rather than 30,000 angry bees!

Nothing good, I heard. Just to aggravate and scare those that don't like em. As far as I'm concerned they're evil Btards. Its not their fault but kill em and they may come back as something they enjoy - you'd be doing them a favour.

Don't they pollinate plants like bees do. Accept wasps don't make honey and when bees sting they die, but when wasps sting they don't and their venom is more harmful.

White Anglo Saxon Protestants? There's probably a reason for them. See if you can trap one and ask?
