is it a regular engine or a V-tec?

the enging number is on the block on the right front of the engine, it also will say vtec on the valve cover if it is a vtec..

Engine Code should also be included in the VIN. The Engine Block normally has a Ref#. The VIN normally has all that data.

if its vtec it says it on the valve cover

if it isnt..then theres no vtec labeling

check the block though to be sure.
