No it shouldn't. It will cause you to shed layers of skin, honestly like a snake does in the first months & your skin may look worse in that first 4 weeks - then you take it to maintain clear skin for a while till dr gives you the okay to stop. You are left with skin that has smaller pores and is dryer in texture. Very thin and delicate, not oily. Your doctor should have made a treatment plan for you that made that clear.
Remember it will still be in your system even after you stop taking it, you aren't supposed to give blood for a while etc.. and the benefits will continue. Some people will need two courses of treament though to get totally clear skin, especially if they have had bad back and upper arm acne.

I used accutane 12 years ago. My skin is not oily. I am currently 33 years old (to give you an idea). My skin never bacame oily in the periods after I used the accutane. though the worst side effect (temporary) was the extreme dryness of EVERY moist part of your body. My nose, cracks of lips all got so dry. I drank gallons of water a day. No lie. Use it. it works!!!
