For me both are essential in order to feel productive and creative.

If by "hobby" you mean an activity you pursue purely because it gives you joy, then the hobby must be more important. Work makes it possible for us to obtain the things we need to live, but without joy, there is no reason to live. Thus, by providing us with a reason to go on living, the hobby provides the motivation for work.

Unfortunately, work has to be more important. Without the work, I would not have any money for my hobbies. So sad.

work because without work you might not be able to afford a hobby!but if you hobby makes you just as much money,then maybe they are equally as important!

Work implies the potential to create something that will benefit others. Hobby suggests a self-indulgence in which we find creative growth in ourselves. Let's hope most of us find both equally important.

Neither is more important but you usually make more money by working. If you don't need money then make your own choice.

Work is more important, for you cannot dedicate yourself to pleasure if you have no money whatsoever (not that money would have much to do with pleasure at all)
