Why do people hate gay people?

this wont just answer that question, but it answers hate in general, we tend to translate all our fears and things we can't have into hate, now I'm not saying that's everyones case but for the most part we tend to say that we hate what we desire the most, or fear the most, i really think that alot of people that hate gay people either fear the fact that someone they love is gay and they wont be able to understand or even accept them, or they have the desire themselves to feel free and wont admit to it.

Many people believe people choose to be gay. They equate it to a choice and with a choice come the right to judge; so they do. The majority of people base their disdain for homosexuality on their belief system derived from their religious practices. They beleive that they must, at the very least, hate homosexuality; some try to distance the hatred for homosexuality from the homosexual by saying, "I don't hate you, I hate the choice you made in your life." I am sure that if it were a choice; life would be much easier for many. It is like saying, "I don't hate your a muslim, I just hate that you chose to be one." This line of reasoning is ridiculous, obtuse, and very similar to the stance upon reasoning used in the Spainish Inquisitions. But hey, what does it matter now; it seems we've started world war three and we're all gonna die anyway. Oh, and to the person who posted that "unnatural" comment and saying that man-woman stuff; Jesus was gay too!

I wish I knew. Possibly because many of us are freer with our emotions and lifestyles. Possibly because many of us are much less carefree, and try to live more for the moment than anything else; since we know that a majority of people will probaly never fully accept us, we take in all the pleasures of life and living and never say sorry, unless we feel it appropriate.

Of course, they could just fear our massie kawks. But for some reason, I doubt that.

Why do people hate blacks,whites,Mexicans,Asians,Indians, anything in general?Why do people hate,gays,straights,bisexuals.
it's not fair is it, but some of us to an extent are racist/prejudice we just don't want to admit it to ourselves because then it would
be "bad". I don't know why people hate gays. All I know is I'm not one of them. Being in love is a beautiful thing no matter what your sexual preference it.

Popular religion dictates what's right and wrong. However, they can't dictate perception of beauty, laws of attraction, joy, or pleasure. So some become angry, usually because of jealousy, when they see others enjoying lifestyle they are curious about or want, but are too ashamed and cowardly to take for themselves.

In short, they hate being cowards.

Because we think its kind of wrong. Gays do have better parenting skills then most heterosexuals,studies show that heterosexual couples abuse,molest,and rape most of their children. That has never happened with homos but it will occur. So don't get too excited! Anyone we think its kind of sick most homophobic think of you guys as pedophiles some of us use our religious way,and the worse homophobic are gay themselves. lots of people are still ignorant and stupid. they've been raised to fear anything/anyone that's "different" from them. they pretend to be "true" Christians by using the Bible to justify their hatred. my friends are mostly Christian and they are very accepting, and many churches in my city are very accepting of us as well. I think some of them feel superior somehow if they can come here and point fingers and pass judgment. what they don't realize is they only prove how truly inferior they actually are.

Who knows. Many people hate black people, jewish people, hispanic people, old people and so on. But not everyone hates gay people, I don't.

Cuz it's "un-natural". Love was meant to be between a man and a woman. I am not against them, or gay marriges. I think everybody deserves to live their life they way they want to, and everybody deserves to be happy.
