There's a strong possibility nothing will happen to her except dehydration and diarrhea and she'll have to go to the hospital.
Tell her husband. It's his kid too. Sounds like she's depressed. He has a right to know what happens to his own offspring, and help his wife through this emotionally. Very likely she's having some kind of emotional-psychological event and if she really does manage to self abort she will regret it deeply, plunging her into an even more serious depression, possibly psychosis.
Both of you help her get professional help to decide if she really does want to keep the baby or not, and if not convince her not to endanger her own life by trying to self abort. If it turns out she really does want the baby and is unreasonably scared and mentally unstable, there are safe medications she can take to even out her mental state.
No reasonable, rational woman would harm herself in this way and avoid telling her partner about the issues surrounding an unwanted pregnancy. If she were serious, she'd pay for a real abortion and either tell her husband before or after.
Something's not right with her. She's crying out for attention.

She doesn't want to AFFORD to have an abortion?
NO, it won't cause an abortion because a fetus can live through many horrible cirumstances and draw off of the mothers nutritional supply. You might want to remind her that a fetus is not in her intestine or bowel so she can flush it out with laxatives. She may however cause severe physical or mental problems with the child.
YES, tell her husband.... definately... What she's talking about doing is simply not right... If she doesn' t want the pregnancy to continue then she can terminate it safely. Someone needs to tell her to grow up and get responsible...

doing that could make her very sick, which will affect the baby. Gee, how sad. Doing that is the same as abortion, which means killing the baby and ending the pregnancy, no matter how it is done.
In my calling we are supposed to report when a person is doing or about to be doing something that is either self-destructive, or destructive to others. I think it depends on how well you relate to the husband, but I would tell him,, even if she gets mad,,, but first,,, talk to her personally, with the information that it will definitely make her and the baby sick,,, because of the dehydration of diahrea, and the loss of nutrition.

I would definetly tell her husband. And i really doubt though that this would do anything to cause a miscarriage. from what i have been told it is actually very difficult to cause a miscarriage on your own. but her husband has a right to know what she is doing since this is also his child and should have a say.

Really, it's difficult to induce a miscarriage. Women have tried for centuries to figure it out without success.
The only proven method is the "morning after" pill or RU486. This is typically the same as a large dose of birth control pills.
(Don't try this at home, I don't know how much and too many could cause REAL problems!)

Tell her it's no different then getting an abortion. I would tell her husband, because she is selfish.
