I have a couple of soaps that I like to watch, but man!!! Why does it take like a week for some of these people to finish a conversation??? Drives me crazy! Anyone else's thoughts about this?

It's called effective marketing... They keep you coming back for more... And just when you thought you'd had enough because that situation has climaxed, another one started a couple of episodes ago, that will keep you coming back over and over and over and over...

That's why I don't watch TV.

Well, except for the Closer, 24, Saved, Star Trek...

I don't watch TV. :)

I used to watch soaps a long time ago. And i sort of got bored and yes it was frustrating because soaps do drag on. And for that i quit watching them. Well if i'm at a friends place and they have a soap on i have no choice but to take a little peek. lol. Know wants bugs me? Is when a woman has a kid and in 2 weeks its a teen. lol. I think it drags on because they would run out of material for the show. And i think its done to make the veiwer tune in everyday for sure. You just can't help it. lol.

Passions is the only soap I watch because of the ridiculousness, and yes I agree.... sometimes it takes forever for anything to happen! I can on without watching it for weeks and still know exactly what is happening.

tell me about it, try not watching for two weeks then they would have progressed a tiny bit, Marlena on Days of our lives has had memory loss for what seems to be like a year, just when you think shes remembered she goes back to forgetting I'm just about to forget about that whole show if they don't move it along soon. Also just when you think there is going to be some big explosion nothing happens, i love the facial expressions at the end of a take they last for about a minute and so dramatic. :)

They have to keep you interested. Keeping you hanging to find out what is going to happen next is the way they make sure people continue to watch soap operas.

Soaps are a waste of time. They are meant as entertainment but they are actually addictive and pull your time away from your family and friends. Time that you could have spent exercising or reading books or discovering something new.
TV should be limited to few channels and limited time too. :)

You're just getting a glimpse into what men feel like when they talk to a woman - conversation goes on for what seems like an eternity!
