Um, the contractions to me. In my case, the contractions lasted 9 hours, compared to the actual act of pushing. That only lasted me 29 minutes. So the contractions were a lot worse for me, simply because it was a longer period of time I had to endure.
Then again, the whole process is just amazing to me anyway. I wish I could afford a lot of kids, or I would do it. I loved being pregnant, the birth, and the labor.

For me, the contractions hurt more. Even though I had pain during pushing, the contractions were worse.

I was super lucky. I had very light contractions my doctor gave me something to speed up labor and then i got an epidural. I had my 8 pd 8 oz baby girl in 5 hrs. Absolutely no pain ever. Couldnt believe it was so painless and easy. Pushing was a bit exhausting but i barely remember. Most painful part to me was the healing of the episiotomy. Right when the epidural wore off the stiches from the episiotomy were so painful i want to ( i did) scream. I had to get demural shots for the pain. Try not to get an episiotomy if you can. I had friends who were messaged down there before labor and then it tore but healed up properly. And no pain like i had. Good luck. GET AN EPIDURAL!!!!

Contractions while waiting for those urges to push and get the birth over with... It hurts to push baby out but the pushing itself gave a bit of relief.
I'd do it again tomorrow however...... All Natural....

Pushing out a 10.5 pound baby hurt a lot more. Contractions, light with one baby, awful stabbing pains with the other (not as bad as wearing high heels at Disneyland), but still, delivery was hardest. Had lots of stitches. Obviosly normal sized babys are a lot easier.

Contractions definitely!! I had them for 26 hours before pushing all natural. Didnt want the epidural, ive been told it interferes with the pushing process.
