No! Mold and mildew are different than mushrooms. The thing that affects many are the spoors that black mold releases. I was in charge of fire and water remediation in Detroit and Cleveland and saw walls that looked like black shag carpet with no effect.

It depends on your system. Some people are allergic to peanuts and can die from a mere taste, others need only one bee sting. Some people may be sensitive to mold while others are not. If you do not have allergies you probably don't have to worry, but be cautious. Don't pop one in your mouth!

these are not mushrooms dont eat them they are toad stools they are poision if eaten
you need to find a way to get rid of the moisture if you dont the wood will rot and warp for some reason your getting a lot of moisture in the wood check for a possible water leak or a source of water getting onto the balconey

Only if you have a craving for mushrooms and are considering them for dinner. Otherwise, spray a little bleach water where the mushrooms are growing, that should discourage any further growth.

The mold scare is relating to "black mold," which look like little black spots. Mushrooms are generally pretty benign as long as you don't eat them. Link goes to the EPA website about hazardous molds.

My GOD! Burn the joint down! Those 'shrooms are EVIL! If you do not wish to burn the joint down, and I suggest you do not, call the local shaman to banish them. Them and the EVIL that permeates your dwelling. Do so at ONCE!
