I should have clarified that question: I was not looking to look on the internet for jobs to work at home, but if anyone had real jobs they did at home, i.e., medical transcription, research, detective work, etc. I wanted to see if any people worked at home through well known, legitimate, established companies doing any jobs that are currently being done at home. I know that there is a growing trend to have people work from home. I know all about the scam jobs and I thank all that answered my question.

There is a trend in large companies in expensive areas to ask employees to work from home, because it frees up office space and actually saves them money. They have to show up at an office once or twice a month, and of course have the week of on-site orientation, but many companies are doing this. The catch is, most of the jobs they are doing this with require college degrees. So if you've got experience as an analyst or researcher, and a degree, you can look into this. If you don't have a college degree, your options are much more limited because it's easier for a company to trust an employee with a degree than without, just because the person spent their own time, money, and effort at college - so they have a record of working hard and not bumming around.

Scams and Phishing sites abound in the Internet. I've been their victim sometime. In a couple of cases, though the company is legit, I found the marketing/compensation systems unreliable and/or the product impossible to sell. Yes, I do lost some money by shooting blindly for online opportunities. You can be their prey too if you can't get reliable advise from person who have experienced being cheated.

From my experiences, I recommend you to look for:

1. Financially-solid online company who has not less than 5-years of productive and honest business. They must have a proven (automated, if possible) compensation plan that pays, provides superb support via dedicated (not outsourced) forum, a satisfied community of members, and openly-posted company information.

2. A marketable, high-demand product that can be sold worldwide and in realtime. A product that can be supported aftersales. Not those that can only give you income from ad-placing, spamming, online research, surveys that will take much of your precious time and/or are impossible to sell/accomplish.

3. The company has in place a simple, fully automated yet rejection-free marketing system. From mass-mailed invitations, tracking, automated billing, after-sales support to Swiss-clock precision of commision payout .

4. A business that anyone worldwide can do. Even average people with novice computer knowledge, or are those not really business-inclined can have the opportunity to succeed too.

5. Compensation plan that provides an ever increasing residual income that is diredtly proportional with your desire to help others succeed also in life.

Sounds difficult? Yes. And it cost me money to find those that pays. I may give you a list here. But there is one company that not only provides above but exceeds all expectations - - -

There are some companies that do hire people to work from the comfort of their own home. Let me see if I can find that website for you. You can try to apply with a few of them.

Beware of scams though. Any company that wants you to pay them to work is not a legitimate employment opportunity.

I have a MD friend who hires medical trans contractors, they probably bought or learned some software along the way, but they split some time at home and come to his office now and then. They have to learn the coding.
