First of all Grosso WAS fouled watch the reply it was obvious! Grosso faked out two Australian players right out of there shoes to set that penalty kick up! Neill slid( faked out) into Grosso because that was the ONLY way he could stop him! If Neill hadn't Grosso would of scored!

Second of all Luca Toni almost scored 4 times in the first half alone! Italy created the better chances. Plus they were down a man and Australia still couldn't get past Italy's defense! Australia NEVER was any threat! Time of possession doesn't mean anything! So Italy had a bad day while Australia played the best they could. Australia wasn't and isn't good enough to beat Italy! Get over it.

This article agrees that Italy won fair and square.

PLEASE REFER TO ANDYGURL'S ANSWER. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again - I couldn't have said it better myself.

As much as it pains me to say this... watch the video highlights and you'll clearly see that they were well and truly in the 18 yard box (penalty box if thats what you wanna call it!). I think the penalty box you were referring to was the 6 yard box!! The video in this link shows it clearer than youtube's but the youtube's video will show the 'foul' clearer.

There's one thing I didn't understand... why was Totti sucking his thumb?!

That was the ref's fault. Anyways, Italy still won & would have won :-) And about that penalty for France against Portugal.. lets talk about that one, eh?

It was surely a sad decision for the Socceroo's and us fans, but you cannot turn back the clock, whats done is done.

Some of you guys get way too offended. No need to be so nasty or defensive. Gosh Australia is over it, settle down

If outside it should have been a free kick, however, there was no foul at all.

Because that's how it is with Italy. They pay the referees and fix matches. It's just the sad truth that they are cheaters. Lots of teams were robbed this year, sadly.
