The Cult of Thorn..based on druid legend. Something about a curse placed on a family for all eternity and the firstborn son of this family must destroy all who share his name...something to that effect.
The Man in Black is who blows up the jail to help Michael escape...see part 6 to have all of this explained more clearly :D

because he's pissed...he wants to kill jaime lee's character...and anyone who comes in his way. part 1 &2 is one story..part 4-6 is a completely different story with the thorn....7&8 is back to 1&2's story..(no thorn)...the thorn sign is part of a cult.

I always thought Michael and Jason should get together. They have allot in common. Can you imagine the mayhem and blood shed that would be.
Michael kills because he is angry, he's afraid he's either going to get something he doesn't want, or he's not going to get what he wants. Or he's jealous that every body around him seems to enjoy life, yet he can't. Or he's just a psychopathic killer who enjoys killing. lol :)
