It's starting to get on my nerves! Someone asks "how do you make the best bread?" and some loony comes back with "It's best made with the love of god" I mean is it just me or do people actually swallow all this god stuff?

There is a time and a place I agree but questions opening up opinions allow for that factor. Well bread, now that is different I might have said place in oven bake at 350 degrees and with the grace of God it will turn out. Well God bless for asking and you have a really good day:-)

I swollow this God stuff, just not to that extent. I doubt God cares if you think that loving Him bakes your bread better. He just cares about you, if you love Him, and how you live.
Please don't lump all Christians together with "loonys". I'm sure most of the more "devout" ones on this web sight mean well. A lot of liberal people spout their propoganda on here, and not that many people complain (except for my intolerant *** of course.)

These people, in my opinion, have a very narrow world view. Don't get me wrong, I believe in God and that the Bible is his word to us. However, I think that God gave us the smarts to understand his world and interact with it. Try reading something besides your Bible. You might learn something about the world that God has made for us.
Remember one of the old sayings:
"God helps those that help themselves."

I think it's a lot to do with their faith, people like to believe in something more than just what they see around them, they like the thought of a "higher" power watching over them like a security blanket. Especially as they get older they don't want to believe death is the end, they hope that they can continue whether in heaven or hell, its an existence of sorts. If it comforts them then fine but your right they shouldn't push their views upon other people. And no I'm not religious I'm an atheist.

People who preach scare me to death! I'm happy with people believing in whatever, but how can you beleive in something so profound that has no evidence whatsoever? In my opinion and experience its done by lonely people usually, who need to think that there's a big power out there to give them a good life (and after life) as long as they pray and preach. Don't mean to sound harsh but I've had a pretty good life without any help from whoever this god is...

I'm a Christian, but I would only answer a question with the answer 'God' if I honestly believed it was the correct answer.
I believe God is in all things, but there is a point where it can get daft.

If we are all god then you are not getting an answer, might as well say 'with the love of Mike'. If we are not god we are still not being answered. All you neeeded was a receipe.

This may come as a surprise but, if you are in the U.S. you have a LOT of religious fanatics there as in many countries, of course. But, since it seems most Answer users are from the U.S., you get a lot of "extraneous" bible material.

That's what makes them happy, in lieu of anything else, so if you think you have more in your life...just ignore them. They won't go away.

I generally only answer questions specifically about my faith with God. I know what you mean though - some people are just seeking converts I guess.

it's a mental disease that alleviates after time. spreading this virus is the only "cure" for it. some people are just so hopelessly lost that they believe this god fellow actually cares about them and looks over them every second of every day.
