My sister's baby shower is on Sunday! Its a suprise, so she doesn't know about it.
What kinds of food and drinks should i get.
I sent out 60 invetations, how many people will acutally show up??? and what kinds of games should we play???

At my shower we had finger foods, such as small sandwiches, trail-mix, cake, fruits, veggies, soft drinks, water, and punch.
We had numerous games, here are some examples.
put 100+ small safety pins into a bowl full of rice, mix it up, and each person is blindfolded. Within 3 minutes, see how many pins you have. It is so hard to feel the difference between a pin and rice.
Take a ball of yarn around and tell each person to guess how wide your belly is.
everyone starts out with a clothes pin. if you say the word "baby", then someone can take yours away. who ever has the most at the end of the shower gets a prize.

usually you do a cold buffet, sandwiches, maybe potato salad, desserts, coffee, soda, juice.
you could also add some hot foods like meatballs, or chicken wings.
cheese and crackers, fruit platter and veggie platter are always good choices.
you should have put RSVP with your phone number so people would call to tell you it they are coming or not. That is how you judge how much food you would need.
do a google search of party games. there are plenty out there. find ones that are baby related.
have a good time. hope your sister gets lots of nice things!

For mine they had sub sandwiches, fruit, lemonade, cake, chips, veggie tray.
Games: Tape measure belly game. Everyone guesses the inches of belly.
Mix up word game: baby items mixed up in words. Unscramble the words within a certain amount of time.
Baby food jar game: baby food jars but each person had to guess (smell or taste)what the flavor is in each numbered jar as there was no label. you want to remove the labels of what they are. May want to number them though and have a reference for yourself so you know what the answers were.
You may want to figure on at least half showing. Always best to have the amount of food for the total you invited just in case!

You could save a little bit of money by having your guests contribute a dish or appetizer, and a beverage.
Here's a fun baby shower game.
Take a handful of baby diapers - maybe 4 to 6 of them.
Put a piece of chocolate candy bar into each one. (In each one put a different type of popular candy bar.)
Pop each diaper into the microwave, one at a time, just long enough to melt the chocolate. Label each diaper with a number (1 - 4 or 6) with a marker on the outside. Pass the diapers around to all the women and have them guess what kind of candy bar is in them. Give them pieces of paper with each candy bar's name in a list and have them put the corresponding number of the diaper they think had that particular candy bar in it.
Try some fun candy bars, like Baby Ruth and Reeses, Milky Way, 3 Musketeers, etc.
It's a riot to watch their faces as they open the diapers and see what looks like a "dirty diaper" and watching them sniff it. What a hoot!
The one who guesses the most of them correctly gets the candy bar of their choice. (Make sure you have extras for ties)

1.food- finger sandwiches, cut open a watermelon empty it and put fruit inside, veggie platter, cheese and pepperoni platter, swedish meatballs, chiz wings chips and dip, the almighty cake and punch wit ice cream in it
2.games- guess the babys weight date of birth height and other physical attributes
put different baby items in a bag and try to guess what they r, u can play who can change the baby fastest, pin the tail on mommy but please use a fake mommy,

sugar cookies in the shape on the showers theme (if there is one)-my showers theme was Noah's Ark (cuz my boy's name is Noah) and the person who threw it made a whole zoo of animal sugar cookies. I loved it!

I hate the baby poop candy bar game.. it is gross.
You serve things that your sis is craving.. keep the pregnant lady happy! :) .. plus a cake.

i would go with decorated cupcakes, fruits, veggies, and finger sandwiches
