Motion sickness and sea sickness...are exactly the same thing...
Sea sickness came first because there have been boats for many many centuries...
Automobiles, planes and trains were invented in the last century and a half or so...
And the answer is still yes, you can get seasick every time you go for a ride, no matter what type of vehicle.

Oh dear God yes you can... On a ferry to France, from England I threw up six times. Five on the way back. The next time I went I threw up three times each way. It doesn't matter how many times you travel, if it makes you sick, it makes you sick. It's when you breathe and you press down as the boat presses up I think. That's what gets me anyway. It's vile.
I also get car sick though.
Wrist bands and travel sicknes pills don't work on boats, tablets vaguely work in a car as long as you don't eat/drink.
