I just think the arbitrators did a poor job. As much as I like J.P there is no way he is worth 2.9 Million. If they had Miller locked up then I think they would of signed him but who knows how much Miller will get. I also think it sucks that the Sabres and J.P missed 5 weeks of time they could of been setting up trades due to the Arbitration date. By the time the ruling was out nobody needed him which sucks for the Sabres and J.P. I think they will be fine without him but he will be missed.

Well, I'm disappointed although not bitterly.
I don't know, every time I have questioned Regier's judgment I've been proven wrong. At this point I'm willing to wait and see how this plays out. Briere's mega bucks were a blow to the Sabs budget....something had to give. I was more fearful of losing Mckee.
Have a little faith, no one expected anything from us last year and we had an awesome year. I worry that the bubble will break, but I'm hanging in with an optimistic anticipation.
All I know is I'm counting the days until the puck drops--even if we start in Carolina.

J.P. Dumont hasn't really gotten any better then previous years its his contract that seems to be getting higher and higher which i don't think he deserves, good for the Sabres front office for standing on there feet and not giving in on a player that just wants the money. he is clearly no worth $2.9 million for one year. for a player that averages in the 30 pts a season category doesn't deserve no way in hell 2.9 million a year he should be only getting $1 million to maybe $1.5 million a year.

I'm not too concerned. The team's got depth and can do very well without J.P. Dumont. Team's going to do just as well without him.

I don't know, not overly concerned, be on the lookout for a guy named Daniel Paille to step in and contribute this year, the team is high on this guy, I've read that he's an energy player that Lindy Ruff loves to have around. Maybe he can step in like Tomas Vanek did his rookie year and give you that surprise spark you didn't expect, plus Vanek is only going to get better.

being from buffalo and seeing bot the sabres and the bills get cheated from the championships, but also seeing what the sabres did this year i dont think it will hurt them because the sabres do not have those few great players. the whole team steps up and thats what makes them so good.

Very concerned. We're not as good as Carolina with Dumont. I wonder how far this sets us back.

I agree with you, Mac!
I, too, am bitterly disappointed in Regier's decision not to retain Dumont!
But I'm confident that the Sabres will overcome this and shine at the next Stanley Cup! :)
LET'S GO, BUF-FA-LO!!!
