My band is in an argument about our drum set we like the sound of the drum without amplifier because it does not have the same tone as our drum but without the amp it is not loud enough and so we were wondering if there is an amplifier out there that does not change the sound and only boosts the level of volume? but maybe it is just ours.however I do not want to wast money on another one like mine.

Try a microphone that is made for drum amplification and run it through the regular P.A. system. If the public address system is good, there should be little distortion.

You need to get good mics and EQ it properly. once you get it down you will never want unamplified drums again.
