we need the name of broadway actress who appeared in dramas on broadway between 1945/50. not a house hold word but considered by jerry ohrbach and hal prince and others to be the consummate actress of the era.they talked about her on a tv history of broadway progarm ,can anyone help us with her name!? thanx, pnbiel@hotmail.com

Sounds like Kim Stanley to me. Dominant stage actress who made only occasional forays into film or television.
