Are they "soon to be" divorced? If he is already divorced and paying child support there is an existing order that has nothing to do with you. If his ex seeks an upgrade of an existing order, they will look at his income, household income and whether he is responsible for other children. The fact that you are concerned however, raises a skank flag. Hopefully you understand and agree that his children are entitled to support, and hopefully you also understand that you will be their STEPMOTHER which means you should surely want the best for them. And for your sake, hopefully you had nothing to do with why your soon-2-be husband is soon-2-be a weekend Dad!!

I think that if you are providing more than half the income and are "supporting" your new husband your husband may have to also use your income or a portion of it. I could be wrong though. Child support laws vary from state to state. If you want a real answer. Contact your local district attorney, the child support division and they can point you in the right direction. And give you factual information for your state. Good luck!

It doesn't sound like it. But I definitely would check into all that and set up some guild lines as far as money goes anyway. It is very hard to mix family's. Someone is always feeling left out and like the others got more. And, the sad thing about it, is that it is usually true. Make sure you stand up for your children and get whats fair for them. If you both work, it would be nice if you can afford to put that money up for college. But I think the child support is usually figured by what he makes. I would talk with him and make sure I liked his views concerning my kids before I got married.

No this has nothing to do with her. Besides in a cp state only the assets are divided equally, any support or custody has nothing to do with the cp laws
