People are often afraid of what they don't know and don't even take the chance to try to overcome that fear. You KNOW black people and wisely haven't found a good reason not to befriend them. Nothing is wrong with differences and the main difference between races are stereotypes, skin color and hair texture. Everything else has the potential to be identically the same. My Mom was a little mistrustful of one of my white girl friends before but I think that is because she looked like a porn star. I just told Mom not to worry. She's NOT racist, but something there was troubling her. Also, yes I've known people who could no longer associate with me because I'm black. Too bad, so sad.

You like who you are going to like. But you have to be careful because your parents might be trying to protect you from what is called a culture shock. I've seen it in my family where my siblings have married outside there race and it's been very difficult to deal with the differences in culture. Your young right now don't think that you have to settle on one person. Have friends, date and decide when you get older. If you really find yourself attracted to black people ask yourself what it is that you find attractive about them and if it's what you want then do what you feel is right, but always respect your parents because they are the ones that love you the most not these guys. You will find it on both sides there are also black parents that don't want their children dating someone white. It's not always one sided.

when you have gotten to your parents age you Will understand. its easy for you to be so forgiving of the blacks. but over the years when you have to deal with the same stupidity .. ignorance. ill mannered stupid people's attitudes. it just gets very old. you wont understand till you have been around it for years.
