Robert Ludlum was a fantastic thriller author, a master of the genre. He really knew how to pace his novels, how to throw in twists and turns without stretching the believability of the story.
The Holcroft Covenant was the first one I read in high school, not having any idea who he was or what else he had written. I was hooked and went out and read as much of his work as I could, and kept up with his books for several years. I have now read all but two or three of his novels.
He died in 2001, and the estate hired Eric Van Lusterbader to work with his unfinished manuscripts and notes to continue publishing his stories.
I would have to join others in giving highest accolades to his Jason Bourne books, especially The Bourne Supremacy.
I also highly recommend The Matarese Circle, The Scarlatti Inheritance, and the aforementioned Osterman Weekend.

They are great! They are especially good if you read them back to back and get the whole feeling for the characters. Ludlum weaves wonder historical fact into the totally fictitious plots which makes his books even more appealing to me. Matt Damon did not do Jason Bourne justice in the movie. The books are far better.

Well he's had many accolades,from both sides of the atlantic All his books are best sellers.My favorite is "The Osterman Weekend".Having said that, I must say all of his works are very good.One of my top 5 authers.Probably the best

I only read one of his books. I think it was Scarlatti heritage.
