I've read some comments saying that Gigi Buffon is overrated....I peronally don't agree.
He's one of the best goalkeeper in the world and whatever award he gets is well deserved.
Anybody agree??

Because he's just not as good as they say he is. There are better goalkeepers out there who don't get the credit they deserve. Jens
Lehmann is the best, and watch out for Paul Robinson, he will be a hero someday. You want your facts: Lehmann can save a damn penalty kick at least, did you see how many corner kicks he caught? Have you seen him with Arsenal as well? He is the best! People are so stupid. Just because a player doesn't win a bunch of titles, they think things like that measure his worth. LEHMANN IS CLASS!!! THAT MAN DESERVES A MILLION TIMES MORE CREDIT THAN BUFFON!!!!!

I haven't heard that but I guess its to be expected.
He is was and still is the most expensive Goalkeeper in the world so some people will feel the need to criticise that fee and need to justify whether he is worth that.
The fact that he has won Serie A four times, was a runner up the 2003 Champions League final & has just won the World Cup should shut these idiots up though!

B/c he is. HE CAN'T EVEN STOP A GOD DAMN PK BALL. how can claim he is one of the best?! And what the hell happened to his face?! he is only 28, but already he looks like he is in his late-30s... May be he just can't handle the pressure like German goalies. we are the best, and will ALWAYS be the best. Just for the records, Germany has the CLEANEST record sheet throughout the whole tournament. Italy's always been the dirrest, includ. Portugal and others. Dirty Italian national players...

I totally agree with you! What do they even mean by 'overrated'? It's stupid. He deserves what he gets. He is an awsome goalkeeper and will always be the best!

everyone is going to have their opinion on who is the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, striker, etc....thats all. i dont think you should take personal offense when someone says they dont like buffon...i mean, its not like they are insulting you and its not like youre related to him or even know him.
its all subjective. we should embrace everyone's thoughts and opinions even when they differ from our own.

of course he isn't overrated, that's just some dude's opinion...
i also would like to add that there are many other gks that are great as well, like lehmann and kahn.
