Why do men still prefer boys than girls?

It seems like men would prefer to have son rather than daughters

OK...so at first I had to ask what sort of a question is this...but I figured out it was in pregnancy, so I am guessing you mean....Why do men prefere to have a son over having a daughter? This answer is quite simple...All men know what they were like in highschool and how they looked at females in highschool...so now...if you were a male, and you knew this information...would you rather have a teenage son, or a teenage daughter? So maybe that isn't all of it...but I certainly take that in to consideration. This is to prevent the father from feeling like he needs to commit a crime on some teenage boy his daughter brings home. And yeah, the whole name thing and the ability to communicate well seems to play as well.

Men want sons to carry on the family name. Not all men prefer boys, some want daughters to spoil, and some just don't care whether it's a boy or girl.

It's not just men. I have 3 boys, 2 girls. When I found out I was pregnant with twins - I prayed and prayed that my babies were boys.

Girls are expensive. Shoes to go with every dress. Dresses that they won't wear more than once. Barbie shoes that you find everywhere. And I mean everywhere. Build a bears that cost a bunch, not to mention the gazillions on outfits for them. American Girl dolls that cost over a hundred bucks a pop. Don't go there with their clothes either.

And girls are cons. Come on, all of us women know it. We smile sweetly, ask nicely. We don't "want" - we "need." And when we don't get what we want - well, we're pretty good at letting others know that we didn't get it. Even adult women throw fits in certain ways. And all..very slyly.

Boys - 2 pairs of shoes, and a good pair of boots. They can get dirty, and not care. Don't care what color goes with what. Just give 'em a tshirt and a pair of shorts - it's all good. They're happy with a bunch of matchbox cars ($1), and can play for hours without arguing.

Little girls turn into beautiful women. Who in turn, end up being someone else's girl. And fathers know it.

They prefer a boy to carry on the family name. Most men feel like its easier to raise a boy. Father to son bonding is a hell of a lot easier than Father to daughter. Thats my opinion.

When a man says he would prefer a baby boy, that only means that as a male parent he thinks he would be able to understand, teach, and enjoy playing with a boy. But in any event, I know plenty of dads who are very close with their daughters. I think that any good father would be equally happy with a baby boy or baby girl.

That's only some men. My fiance would rather have a daughter over a son any day (we have 2 daughters 0 sons).

I am one of those people that never like "Classifications" or should I say "Stereotypes". No one should ever be put into any sort of group according to what other people think or may say. We are all individuals with different points of views and most importantly we have feelings. Men, Boys, Women or Girls we should be considered as individuals. Stop assuming that people are certain ways or do certain things. Communicate with people and find out where they stand BEFORE being one sided.

Someone to cary on their name. Men like daughters too, but in my experiance, women prefer to have daughters. Men aren't the only ones who have preferances.

Girls need to be protected from evil boys when they grow older!!! So some men don't think they are up to the challenge
