I think flipping up the collar is totally cheesy and I would not go for a guy who did that.
I like it when guys have untucked shirts
rolled up sleeves are fine
buttons undone is sexy!!
I agree ( except the collar ) I think you are very insightful

Around here there is a joke about a sign along the road near a wealthy suburb - "Now Entering the Village of Westlake - All Collars Must be Up." In that case, a turned-up collar indicated a snobbish attitude, and usually demanded an Izod polo shirt.
Untucked dress shirt on a young, stylishly dressed person may indicate living by one's own rules, but on anyone else, it means they're a slob.
Rolled up sleeves on a politician (e.g., John Kerry) means they're trying to look like a "man of the people", whereas rolled up sleeves on a plumber means they actually ARE a man of the people.
Top three buttons BUTTONED means you're weird; unbuttoned means (or just looks like) you forgot to button a button.

I respect everyone's sense of style...
Where I live, people judge the human quality depending on what one wears... I feel that one should dress however one feels... but people need to start being a little more original... I see 50,000 "wanna-be" Daddy Yankee's or 50 Cent's... They all look like they have just been shipped out of a factory in their boxes... All with their collars flipped, all with their sleeves rolled-up, all with their top buttons un-buttoned and last, but not least, all with their fake bling-bling... so funny... What have they become? Is there no sense of individuality?
As for all the Wanna-be gangs of where I live...
When people start realizing that a person is a person based on the beliefs and human quality and not based on what they wear and the type of music that they listen to, that is when they will grow up... They are so childish... dressing alike and beating up people who don't dress like them or don't listen to the same music. Pitiful, really pitiful...

The fact that you are obsessing about these issues means that even if YOU untucked your shirt, flipped up your collar, rolled up your sleeves and/or unbuttoned the top buttons...you would still not be cool. :-)

Everything but flipping the collar, that's lame and doesn't serve any benefit whatsoever. It's kinda like once you do that you have broken the line of looking cool to begging for attention.

Flipping up your collar can mean poser; it depends if the person has the look to pull it off

You'd look pretty messy.
Anyway, pulling up your collar is the style now, so it doesn't really mean you're a nonconformist at all.

All of these are fine in my book except flipping up your collar. That's just creepy.

I like the way you interpreted that. But most people would view dressing as such quite vulgar. But people are entitled to their own opinion.

I think all of the above mean you're a lemming who wants to try to look like every other fashion whore out there...think for yourself and dress how you are comfortable.
