Legalize it, tax it and use the revenue to fund substance abuse programs. It is certainly no more dangerous that tobacco.

I think it should at least be legalized for medical purposes, by prescription. It's less harmful than alcohol or tobacco. The bias against it is all based on a conservative perception that it's a "hippie" drug. I'll bet George W could tell you otherwise.
I wouldn't smoke it even if it were legal, but it's immoral to deprive glaucoma patients of the best available medication just because of a silly prejudice. Lots of prescription drugs are more addictive and dangerous than marijuana (like morphine, for example); that's why they're controlled substances.

Certainly you refer (heh, heh, heh) to dandelions. Yes, marijuana should be legal. Ask a cop if he's ever been called to a domestic quarrell (sp?) where weed was a contributor vs. alcohol. If we could go to Walgreens or Osco or Target and legally buy an ounce for personal use the government could tax it. Hm-m-m-m.
And by the way, I'm not a user. Used to HATE the thought of it.

I think it should be legalized only for the old folks in the nursing homes. Only the aged and retired hard-working citizens who have done their work, raised their families, and then found themselves cast aside to sit in a frickin' chair staring into space for the rest of their lives.... deserve that much peace of mind.
The rest of you.... especially the young... you know who you are... shut up about getting high, and get to work and save your money! You know darned well that weed is destroying your whole sense of purpose, and you'll never be worth diddly-squat, if you keep smoking your brains away.

No I think we have enough problems in the World. I tried it and hated the way it made me feel. My ex husband used it so much he could hardly walk. It is dangerous to other people from the ones who use it. You never know when it could be laced with something else. A lot of people start out with pot and then want something stronger and get even more messed up in the head and end up in jail or dead.

Yes it should, It has caused less death in the US then cigarettes or alcohol. It is safer the a lot of products the we can at the local gas station. Y not? Its because the government helps bring drugs into the country and they make more of a profit now then they would if it were lega.

Anyone who has ever awoken the morning after a night of heavy drinking and "blacked out". Is it possible to black out, when stoned? Highly unlikely (no pun intended). Is it possible to overdose on weed? Only if you eat more than your body weight (which is impossible in one sitting). Anyone who has experimented with drugs knows that pot is one of the most harmless and enjoyable chemicals that one can recreationally consume.

I'm for finally admitting we have lost the war on drugs, legalize all drugs, and use the enormous savings on prevention and treatment. Imagine how much the crime rate alone would go down with legalized drug use.

I don't smoke it, but I think it should be legal. Alcohol is legal, after all, and a person can do as much damage when they're drunk as when they're high. Besides, pretty much anybody who wants the stuff can get it.
