Isn't a brain and a mind the same thing???

Where is the mind? is it even attached to our physical presence. Our brain is in our head, but is our mind in our brain. If I cut my hand where do I feel the pain? In my hand. So if I feel the pain in my hand does this mean my mind is in my hand? Are the brain and the mind actually connected? Is your physical presence in fact real or just a dream?
Or is our body (brain included) a physical manifestation of a mental creation of our true being?
The mind allows us to think and reason, it allows us to make connections where we otherwise would not. It allows us to create an internal record of connections and associations of thought and experience which we use or can use to make decisions and communicate.
Both the brain and the mind are important, it depends on your own perception of mind and brain. If you truly belief your mind is completely reliant on the existence of your brain and is incapable of existing outside of it then the brain becomes the more important of the 2, but only because it would then be the ONLY pod where the mind could possibly exist. If, however, you belief that the mind is an independent entity, then the mind becomes more important than anything.
I hope I didn't answer your question and just helped you ask more questions to come to your personal and individual answers.

The brain is nothing without the mind. Likewise, the mind cannot function without the brain. They are equally important but contribute to different aspects of your potential achievement and psychology. The mind is the tool for actual logical thinking, creativity, and ability to compute. The brain is just the tangible object that the mind lives in.

The brain is simply an organ, like the heart is an organ or the liver is an organ. The mind is what makes the brain operate, so the mind is the more important of the two.
The mind is what makes us human, allows us to feel emotions, imagine things, invent things like computers and Yahoo!
