When you talk to Verizon they are pretty reasonable. I've been a Verizon customer for a long, long time. You do have unlimited IN calling from another Verizon customer as well as nights and weekends. EGADS!!! I sound like a commercial. Anyway, I would give them a call and have them review the bill with you.

IN calling means calls made to other verizon customers. For all other calls, you have a limited number of minutes per month that are free. If you go over that limit then they charge you per minute. I doubt you can get away with saying it wasn't explained to you because you signed a contract. If you didn't read what you signed, that's your problem-- not their's.

Verizon was rated best in customer service for several years in a row. They are awesome, but they are not stupid. Out of sheer kindness they may take pity on you and give you some kind of small discount to make you happy, if your persistent. Thats all you can hope for.
Good luck.

i have verizon and you cant go over "in" minutes. you went over your anytime minutes. anytime minutes are usually like 6am to 9pm. in calling only applies when you use your verizon phone to call another verizon phone or they call you.
