I'm almost 14 and this year for school i'm going to start to go to bed at 9:00. Last year and all the years before 8:30. On school days I have to get up about 6:45 too. And so I still get the right amount of sleep. I think it is 8 to 10 hours of sleep a night. But anyway i'm glad that my parents made me go to bed about then because I really don't get all that tired during the day.

I hope this helped you.

Just to let you know after 9:00 is a little to late maybe. Possible 9:30 but I would say 8:30-9:00

I have a 9 year old daughter and I find it to be true no matter what the bedtime is she is not happy with it. Like most children they are not happy about going to bed and why should they be when they are living such good lives. I find it to be true that now days most mother's let their children stay up as long as they want to. I am the more protective kindof of parent and very traditional. I find that most children as a general rule function better with routine. Routine is more important to me then numbers. Kids like to know what is next and when will they be doing it. As time goes by things become easier because they know what is expected of them. My 9 year old is in bed by 8:00 pm during the week. When she goes to bed at 8:00 pm she will read alittle and then be asleep by 8:30 pm or 9:00 pm. I find it is much easier for her to go to sleep if she can have some alone time in her room first. Going straight to sleep is hard for them after having sooo much activity during the day. They need to wind down just like us adults! I think every child is different when it comes to what time is a good time. My daughter functions better on a 8-10 hour sleep pattern. She is an excellent student, never complains about going to school in the morning and had perfect attendance at school this last school year. Be patient with your child and most importantly CONSISTENCY is the key to a good parent.

8 o'clock. This way she will get at least 9 hours of sleep. It is recommended that children get at LEAST 10 hours.
My children's doctor begged me when they were younger that if there any advice he gives me the most important things he hopes I'll practice is making sure they get 10-12 hours of sleep and that I would have healthier children emotionally mentally and physically. The doctor must be right because my oldest has had six years perfect attendance and my youngest has only needed antibiotics 2 times. They are 16 and 12. We are not health food fanatics either we eat like typical americans, I let them go outside to play with friends and exercise and sleep is a must. Also We now do a bedtime of 9 pm and if I notcie they are tired by thursday then bedtime time is earlier and friday I stick to the early bedtime and let saturday be their late night and back on schedule by sunday

9:30-10. I think that would be a good idea and if she feels like or if you as the parent think she needs more sleep then do it at 9pm. She is getting to that age where she really doesnt want a bedtime but still wants you to set the rules. Give her a time that you think she needs and then let her make the choice to stay up til 10 or go to bed at 9:30. Then if she starts draggin rear put her to bed at 9:00!

10:00. If you fall asleep at 10 you'll have around 8 hours of sleep, which is just enough for an eleven year-old girl. Sweet dreams!

Usually 10 p.m. is the deadline for my house-hold. You have to consider that kids, after comming home from school ( on a usual day) and then doing homework, are left with but a few hours of downtime. I'd recommend a 9p.m. to 10 p.m. bedtime. Anything before or after that is excessive.
