NEVER Destroy a book. If you don't want the bible, give it to your local church, I am sure they would find a good home for it.

The correct way to destroy a flag, or any other venerated object, is to burn it, so this would probably holdl true for the Bible as well.
But don't be in a rush to destroy it. How old is it? Does it have any family history written in it? These things can make it valuable to collectors.

Make a manuscript of that book & preserve it!

Don't ever destroy it or think of destroying it.

It can be rebound by a good binder.

Don't destroy it, read it instead. And after you read it, preserve it by binding it up again or putting it in something that will keep it.
