I'm going to get my lip pierced in a few weeks. I've already though about this for a year so don't bother telling me not to do it. I know my parents will so hate my lip piercing/me. So, I have a number of ways I can go with this. I can either:
1. Not say anything, and hide it for awhile afterward
2. Not say anything, and not hide it afterward
3. Casually mention something about facial piercings before
4. Tell them outright

I'm kind of leaning toward option #2, but I wanted some other people's opinions. So, what should I do?

i think if you are old enough to do it there is nothing that they can do to stop you..sure they might frown upon it and not like that youve "destroyed" your body but thats just it...its YOUR body not theirs...you live with the decision they just have to put up with it..so i think you should just tell them that youre getting it...i told my parents that i was going to gauge my ears and sure they were furious but i now have a 6 gauge in my ear and they dont care much...and itll be the same when i get a tattoo...ill just tell them im gonna get it...so trust me they will get over it..just not right away...

just tell them outright
they will get pass the anger
my mother was angry when i got my belly button pierced and a tattoo
we talked about it for about 1 1/2 years
then one day i went and did it without her knowing it
about a week passed then she got accustomed to it
the same worry she had about it wont heal well and that it might give me some sort of infection and then she realised that i made it through sick free
she lighten up on the topic
and what can she do now the deed has already been done

Just tell them. If you're over 18, it's your choice, and the anger will pass. It's just a piercing- you can take it out, and the hole will heal. It's not like it's a permanent tattoo- remind them of that. If you're under 18- They'll have to sign a release form, so you'll have to tell them anyway. Unless you're doing it on your own, in which case, I don't reommend telling them, but I don't suggest hiding it either. What's done is done, and just let them see it. Or maybe do it, take it out, warn your parents, then wear it proudly.

first of all, dont lie to them and dont try to hide anything. sooner or later, your parents will find out, and that will be even worse than if you just tell them outright. if you do tell them outright, calmly listen to why they dont want you to get your lip pierced, and then tell them y you want this so much, and give reasonable arguments that will get rid of their concerns. if they still refuse point blank, DO NOT whine or scream or throw a tantrum, that will just make them think of you as immature or strenghthen their resolve to not let you get your lip pierced. oh, and if you want to get your lip pierced, make sure that you know all the pros and cons to piercing your lip, like infections or watever.

If you are old enough to do this without their permission, then just calmly tell them that you are getting it done. Then when the outburst is over, patiently explain your reasons to them. Remind them that you are 18+ and legally an adult. Be nice about it, don't throw a tantrum, or you'll only make it worse. If you don't tell them in advance their reactions will only be that much worse. Knowing in advance gives them time to get used to the idea before they have to face it.

person or no longer, that's technically her dwelling house. on an identical time as she has no stunning being impolite (annoying you to circulate get issues for her) as for speaking approximately your hair and make - up she's your mom and hazard is heavily isn't happy with what you place on except that is what she needs. My mom nonetheless bugs me approximately mine and that i've got moved out, married with 2 young infants. extremely of attempting to have a "communicate" along with her in basic terms carry it up while the time comes. in case you're actually not in a topic you are able to go get something tell her that and clarify it. inspite of the undeniable fact that for the time of my view in case you have not got a activity then you getting issues for her while asked looks very virtually stunning because she works and you do no longer. I recommend getting a element time interest on an identical time as you visit college (do no longer say you won't be able to reason ya can! i'm doing it with a toddler to preserve, college, and pregnant) that way you're actually not continually at dwelling house to pay attention this.
