To disarm the people (is) the best and most effectual way to enslave them...
George Mason

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
Thomas Jefferson

The income tax amendment-screws the people over.

The Federal reserve act- Screws the people over.

The drug scheduling system/war on drugs-Screws the people over.

The patriot act-screws the people over.

People have to remember that when ever you make something illegal, you take that right from the law abiding citizens and give it to the criminals and the government.

You really have to think about it.

The war on drugs has only increased violent crime, drug addictions and problems, Sent people to jail who don't belong there and has cost us billions of dollars, thousands of lives.

The gun control laws has done the same thing. It creates a black market of criminals selling guns without being taxed, with untraceable money and transactions.

All they have done so far is given people a way to make lots of money on drugs and guns, increasing the will to break the law.

Money is a powerful motivator. Legalize drugs, fight the gun control laws. Keep your freedom as a human. As a citizen of the united states.

If you don't fight for your rights, you will die for them.

Agreed - generally.

I still don't understand why anyone needs assault weapons, though.

Also, if you believe that the 2nd Amendment give all citizens the right to bear arms without regulation - what about nuclear missiles? Tanks? Artillery?

There have to be reasonable restrictions on the 2nd Amendment. I think all rifles and handgus should be left off the restrictions. I believe in background checks to make sure felons and the mentally ill aren't getting guns in their hands. And I don't see why assault rivals are necessary for any private gun owner.

I have always wondered what part of "the right of the people to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed" do the urban, liberals not understand? It is legal nonsense to misconstrue that clause to mean anything other then the people (the average Joe or Jane Citizen). We've seen far too much abuse in this nation by politicians concerning this issue on both sides. Ownership is not a God given right; it is a right wisely granted by Thomas Jefferson (a deist) when he wrote the Bill of Rights.

Gun control only prevents law abiding citizens from having guns. The criminals already break the law and could care less.

Actually, common sense tells you that if you make gun laws, criminals still will have guns. There's laws against coke in the United States, isn't there coke on the streets?

I think it is semi-bull ****. On one hand, it limits people who obey the laws, the criminals do not care, they will carry them anyway. BUT, when they are apprehended, they can be prosecuted and taken off of the streets. I see both sides of the arguement, but you don't need a M-16 or a Bazooka to deer hunt. Those are strictly people killers.

Gun control will never happen in this country as long as there are people like me. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Protect your rights and your guns will never be taken away. If you don't protect them you should put your head between your a$$ and kiss it goodbye.

First off, owning and carrying a gun is a privilege not a right. You do know that they take this privilege away from convicted felons right? Could they not make the argument that it is their "constitutional" right?
