Jaron, you have good height for the QB position. However, do you want to be a team leader? Are the person that likes to be in control of the team? If so, you could also try out for middle linebacker the QB of the D. I think the best thing is for you to let your coaches evaluated your strengths and weaknesses. Then, go from there to see what position best suits you. Most importantly have fun and good luck. Keep us posted on what position you end up playing.

If you think you can take a beating, and you think you have good, solid, breakaway speed I would REALLY give running back a go. Most guys are intimidated to try RB as a freshman or 1st time sophomore, but your coaches will teach you all the technique you need to know.
I coached a couple years back, and we had a kid (Freshman) who was about your height, but weighed a bit more, and he really laid a smacking on people who tried to tackle him. Besides grades and attitude (off-the-field issues) his on the field problem was that he didn't have the breakaway speed RBs need.
On defense, again is preference. If you like the contact go for safety. Especially strong safety. If you're not so sure about lots of contact go for cornerback, but by all means make sure you can tackle in the open field.
Go with what makes you most comfortable. Talk to your coaches. Most young kids are willing to play where coaches put them. You'd be surprised at the response you'd get from just talking to your coach and not only getting feedback from him, but also letting him know where you're at. Communication is key.
Good luck!

If you can run, I'd say play linebacker or safety. If not, maybe tight end or fullback. You're a little lanky still but with you height, these are all adequate position choices.

linebacker no question prefferablly r outside most passers are right handed so you can fly in and attack the blindside and your hieght is a hell of an advantage at your age if in pass coverage you will have ability to go after a jump ball

tightend would b good 4 u. If you can throw you could always try qb. (If this is your 1st time trying out qb is probably not an option though some dads train their kids to b qbs from the time they can walk) Good Luck! Who is your favorite football player?

Until you put some beef on yer bones, not sure if your body will take that punishment. At least 15 lbs would help with the conditioning, then I would shoot for WR or S/CB.

I'm 14, 6'0 ft., and 160 lbs. I play outside line backer and back-up QB. You should try for those.
