Just curious as to how well you did in high school as compared to college. All answers are appreciated, though I would greatly appreciate hearing from any of you who did very well in high school with very little or no studying, as that is my current situation. I'm just trying to figure out whether or not I will, as many people have told me, be completely screwed because I don't know how to study.

Thanks for your insight/experiences.

I glided through high school and graduated 3rd in my class....undergrad classes provided my first academic challenge! It was refreshing....I found that I inherently knew how to study, but my problem was procrastination. I couldn't tell you how many all nighters I pulled to study for exams or write entire semester term papers. Somehow I managed to get everything done, and graduated with honors. My regret was, however, that I didn't really soak in all I could have...I learned it for the short term, instead of applying myself to really internalize more....Not sure if it made a difference, but I paid my way through scholarships, student loans, and a part-time job. I suspect I took it more seriously than some who had their way paid for them, though I spent more time partying than I'd like to let my parents know, even today :) When I went back for my masters, I was dedicated to learning the material, and graduated with a 4.0 (of which I am proud)....but still haven't knocked the procrastination. Don't listen to what people say. If you're smart, you'll be fine. Just try to get things done in a reasonable amount of time! Focus on the things you really need to know for your career....and your interests! Good luck! :)

I did very well in high school. I was in the top 10% of my graduating class of over 700 students. I studied an average amount in high school. Just enough to get the homework done and do well enough on the tests.

I am also doing very well in college. I have like a 3.9 GPA. My major is pretty easy, so I am actually studying less than I did in highschool.

I guess it really depends on your major. If you are majoring in architecture, engineering, pre-med, etc. then it might be hard. If you are taking liberal arts classes, I don't think it will be too difficult.

Today's public education system is deplorable; the schools are basically idiot mills. Many people graduate high school woefully unprepared to attend college.

You'll have to learn to study. However, you have more choice in college and can take classes you enjoy.
