Be honest -

Also - you may want to stress your customer service skills. Food service is really a "service" industry. At Subway - you will be asked to, in a nutshell, make food to order. Stress your outgoing personality and ability to listen and follow instructions.

Find out about the company by visiting their website. At the interview ask questions about something you learned that the average person would not know about.

For example, I work for a software publishing company and before my interview I learned that they had an adjunct website beside their regular website where you could download for free older copies of their software. So when I went to the interview I asked the folks interviewing me about it and we ended up talking about marketing strategies etc. I got the job.

Also, be nice to the receptionist or whoever greets you. Say goodbye to her when you leave.

Write an INDIVIDUAL letter or email to each person who interviews you, touching on something that person had said. Do not gang mail everyone with a generic letter.

After you get dressed take off one piece of jewelry.

No piercings except maybe 2 in each ear.

No cologne. No talon-like nails. You are going to be preparing food here. No strange hair.

Dress neatly. This is the best you are ever going to look and if you look sloppy at your interview that means you are going to look even worse if you get the job.

You are interested in working for them because:
You feel they are filling a niche by providing health conscious meals in a fast food atmosphere.
Ooh I like that one.
You want to be part of a growing company with room for advancement. That's trite but if you can't think of anything else, use it.

Smile!!!!!

Congrats on your first job! There are a couple things that most employers like to see, one of the top (besides customer service) is whether or not you have an open schedule. Do you go to school and would have to work nights, will you be available weekends all day. Make sure you know just how much time you have available. Also they want to hire someone who is going to provide good customer service, believe it or not, even if the food isn't the best, good customer service always brings them back every time. Good luck, just be yourself, that is what they want to see.

Be polite and have clean fingernails. Act like you want the job, like you're excited at the prospect of working for Subway. Dress the part. Don't be flashy, but don't show up in jeans and a T-shirt. When they ask, "what fo you have to offer?" You have a strong desire to be successful, you are highly motivated, and you believe that your outgoing personality will make you ideal for this position. Smile a lot. Speak intelligently and you'll get the job.
